And while ‘never again’ reverberated around the world after WWII here we are again, again at the hand of one man. A couple of generations pass and we forget how horrible that war was. And we put our heads in the sand, wring our hands or put our attention elsewhere.
Do you think that you are not at risk? Anyone who was disloyal to the Nazi regime was at risk, and when found those people probably went to the camps or were eliminated.
You can look at your neighbors who are ‘different’ - the undocumented, women, all people of color, all immigrants, all LGBTIQA+…..- name your label - and they could be found disloyal simply by being on this earth. And for that they could be tossed in one of these. You could be tossed in one of these.
According the Guardian and PBS, as published by Google AI, “as of early 2026, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is rapidly purchasing and converting industrial warehouses into detention centers across the U.S. to expand capacity by tens of thousands, with major sites in Social Circle, GA; Socorro, TX; and Tremont, PA. The strategy focuses on refurbishing 24+ sites near major logistics hubs for easy transportation.
Key Locations for New/Proposed ICE Detention Centers:
Georgia: A major “large-scale” facility (7,500–10,000 beds) is planned for a warehouse in Social Circle, GA, near Atlanta. Another is in Jefferson, GA.
Texas: A large-scale facility is in Socorro, TX (near El Paso). Other sites include San Antonio, Hutchins, Baytown, and Los Fresnos.
Pennsylvania: A major facility is planned in Tremont, PA, with another in Upper Bern Township.
Other Sites Identified (2025-2026):
Michigan: Romulus and Highland Park.
Maryland: Hagerstown.
Arizona: Surprise and Glendale.
Other locations: Merrimack, NH; Port Allen and Hammond, LA; Roxbury, NJ; Jupiter, FL; and Salt Lake City, UT.
Other Potential Locations and Tent Camps:
New Hampshire: A facility is planned in Merrimack, with $158 million allocated for retrofitting.
Virginia/North Carolina: Sites under consideration include the Augusta Correctional Center (VA) and Rivers Correctional Facility (NC).
Military Bases/Tent Cities: Reports indicate potential use of Fort Bliss (TX), Camp Atterbury (IN), and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (NJ).
California: ICE has sought sites in Kern, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Imperial counties.
ICE is prioritizing areas 45 minutes to an hour outside of large city centers to establish these new facilities.”
I wonder what the tipping point will be. Will the US have to be attacked in order for the populace to understand that a system of governance exists to eliminate this man’s threat to our country? That a descent into Fascism and the human destruction is not a foregone conclusion?
The 24+ sites for the ICE Camps is already 64% of the number of camps that the Nazi regime had for the entire length of WWII (1939 to 1945). 64%….already.
